At Practice 2, we are committed to ensuring that all patients can access our services safely, comfortably, and with dignity. We recognise that people may have different needs due to physical disabilities, mental health difficulties, sensory impairments, communication needs, or other circumstances, and we aim to make reasonable adjustments wherever possible.
Our practice has a range of facilities to support patients with physical disabilities and mobility difficulties, including:
Disabled parking facilities
Step-free access and wheelchair-friendly entrances
Ramps and accessible routes throughout the practice
Wheelchair access
Accessible toilet facilities
Seating areas suitable for patients with different mobility needs
If you require any additional support when attending the practice, please let our team know so that we can make appropriate arrangements.
We understand that attending healthcare appointments can sometimes be difficult for people experiencing anxiety, mental health difficulties, cognitive impairment, or other challenges.
To support patients, we can offer:
A private room for confidential discussions
Additional time or adjustments where clinically appropriate
Support from our team to make your visit as comfortable as possible
A calm and respectful approach tailored to individual needs
If there is anything that would help you access care more easily, please discuss this with our reception team or your clinician.
We aim to support patients with hearing, visual, or other sensory difficulties. We can provide adjustments including:
Hearing loop facilities where available
Clear communication support and allowing extra time where needed
Written information in alternative formats where possible, including large print
Support for patients who need assistance understanding or accessing information
Please let us know in advance if you require any specific adjustments so we can support you appropriately.
We want all patients to be able to communicate effectively and understand their healthcare.
A professional Language Line interpreting service is available for patients who require language support. Where possible, we ask patients to let us know in advance so that an interpreter can be arranged for their appointment.
Patients who have previously requested language support will have an alert on their medical record to remind our team to arrange interpreting support when booking future appointments.
Please do not hesitate to let us know if you need help with communication, as this helps us provide safe and effective care.
If you need support from a carer, family member, or another person when accessing healthcare, please discuss this with our team. We will work with you to ensure your needs and preferences are respected while maintaining confidentiality.
At Practice 2, we recognise the contribution made by members of the Armed Forces community and are committed to supporting veterans and their families.
If you are a veteran, please let us know so that we can ensure this information is recorded on your medical record where appropriate. This helps our team understand your healthcare needs and signpost you to relevant services and support.
Veterans may be eligible for dedicated NHS and community support services, including specialist mental health, physical health, and wellbeing support.
If you need help accessing veteran-specific services, please speak to a member of our practice team.
If you have any questions about accessibility or require adjustments to help you use our services, please contact the practice. We are always happy to discuss how we can support you.
