Following a consultation with a clinician, and where clinically indicated, blood tests, urine tests, swabs, and cervical smear tests can be arranged through the surgery. Please contact the reception team to book your appointment.
Radiological investigations (scans and X-rays) will be requested by a clinician when clinically indicated.
For most X-rays, you can attend Radiology - Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board on a walk-in basis once you have been given a request form. However, scans and more complex investigations usually require an appointment, which will be arranged and sent to you by the hospital.
Waiting times for hospital investigations vary. Information about current waiting lists and diagnostic services can usually be found on the hospital website.
Results are available by telephone between 2:00pm and 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. Results can also be requested through our online consultation service.
Please be aware that, in line with our confidentiality and data protection policies, test results can only be given to the patient concerned unless prior consent has been provided or the patient is unable to understand the information.
When your test is taken, you will be advised how long the results are likely to take to reach the practice. It is important that you check your results and arrange a follow-up appointment with a clinician.
